Russian skier Savely Korostelev, a participant in the 2026 Olympics, stated that media attention does not affect his training, but he is ready to consider the opinion of Elena Vyalbe, the head of the Russian Cross-Country Skiing Federation (FLGR).
“The media load doesn’t hinder my training, but Elena Valeryevna is the senior coach, so I will listen,” Korostelev was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti Sport.
Vyalbe recently commented on the conflict between skiers Savely Korostelev and Alexander Bolshunov. She advised Korostelev to “tone it down a bit and focus on training” rather than chasing media fame.
Earlier, three-time Olympic champion Bolshunov called the 2026 Olympic Games a circus and claimed that winning medals there would be easy. In response to Bolshunov’s remarks, Korostelev questioned why, if it was so simple, Bolshunov did not participate in the Games.
