Saudi sports commentator Walid Al-Farraj has criticized Al-Nassr’s shocking 1-1 draw against Al-Hilal in the 32nd round of the Saudi Roshn League derby, describing Al-Hilal’s equalizer as the “final blow.”
Al-Nassr was leading until the ninth minute of stoppage time, when Brazilian goalkeeper Bento scored a bizarre own goal.
Speaking on the show “Action with Walid,” Al-Farraj said: “Al-Nassr is like a man whose wedding was postponed. They were ready to celebrate the league title, and then everything was delayed.”
He added: “Al-Nassr was just seconds away from securing the league title, but Bento made a catastrophic mistake, gifting Al-Hilal a goal that was like the final blow.”
Al-Farraj continued: “Al-Hilal controlled most of the match, but Al-Nassr was more clinical and managed to score in the first half. However, Cristiano Ronaldo seemed anxious, as if he knew the match would end in a draw.”
He concluded: “Al-Nassr hasn’t lost the league; they will win the title with 99% certainty. The celebration was only postponed. Al-Hilal winning the championship would be nothing short of a miracle. The idea of Damac beating Al-Nassr in the final round is very difficult, but football has a way of surprising us. We’ll see what happens.”
