Bologna opened the scoring through Federico Bernardeschi in the 10th minute and doubled their lead when Riccardo Orsolini converted a penalty in the 34th minute. Napoli fought back, with Giovanni Di Lorenzo pulling one back just before halftime (45+2) and Alisson Santos equalizing shortly after the restart (48th minute).
