Former Formula 1 driver and current analyst Ralf Schumacher has suggested that Mercedes driver George Russell is behaving unnaturally in light of the success of his teammate, 19-year-old Italian Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
“Antonelli is faster than George right now, and Russell himself looks tense. It reminds me of the situation with Oscar Piastri last year. The question now is how long it will take Russell to get out of this position. From my point of view, Russell is insincere. George is playing a certain game, using his English politeness. And right now, it’s essentially turning against him because he’s not behaving as he usually does. I think it would be useful for him to express his opinion. George could honestly talk about the situation. From the outside, everyone can see that things are not going well,” Schumacher told Sky Sport Germany.
