Rick Tocchet After Elimination by Carolina: “We squeezed everything out of this team

Posted on: 05/11/2026

Philadelphia Flyers head coach Rick Tocchet spoke after his team’s 2-3 overtime loss to the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 4, resulting in a 0-4 series sweep in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

The Flyers reached the postseason for the first time since 2020, advancing past the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round with a 4-2 series win in the Pennsylvania rivalry.

“I think some of our guys are tired. We squeezed everything out of this team. I can’t ask for more. We held on. They have a good hockey team. They play four lines. They just fly.”

“Several of our guys got injured, broken ribs and all that. So I can’t… They gave it their all. Of course, we would have liked a little more puck possession, and there are some things we would have liked to do, but we pushed some guys a bit too much, and they tried today,” Tocchet said.
